10 Weirdest Bacon Art Pieces

Bacon is a wonderful thing.  It’s nutritious (sort of) and delicious (totally).  Even kids love bacon.  Did you know bacon can be art? I’m not talking about the house you built out of bacon atop of your banana chocolate chip pancakes this morning. I’m talking about real, fancy pants art.  I present to you the 10 Most Weird Ass Bacon Art Pieces.

10. Bacon Toilet
This non-functional toilet (Don’t make the same mistake I made.), is the hit of artist Simone Racheli’s meat themed collection. While it also incorporates other meats, it is a success in the bacon community including one of THE bacon blogs MoreBacon.com. (I wonder if they give bacon bonuses to their writers during the holidays.)

9. Bacon and Eggs
These bacon eggs were the hit of Bacon Camp 2009 held in San Francisco. Bacon Camp didn’t just highlight bacon art. It also showed off delicious bacon treats, including bacon sushi, bacon cupcakes and bacon drinks.  Pour me a bacon whiskey.

7. Bacon Jack-O-Lantern
This adorable sculpture has been making its way around the Internet all week. Just in time for fall, this bacon art is sure to be the hit of hipster craft fairs everywhere.

6. Bacon Suit
This is less of an art piece and more of an awesome outfit, but I thought you would still enjoy it. Let it fry!

5. Bacon Bra
Who says art can’t be functional?  This is much better than most of the other bacon bras on the Internet.  At least the meat isn’t raw. This is what I’m wearing for my next date night.

4. Bacon Angel
She’s beautiful and easy to make, even if you’re not a professional artist. This holiday angel is perfect. Just don’t let her rot, or you’ll get holiday rats.

3. Fancy Bacon Sculpture by Simon Racheli
This is another piece in the Simone Racheli collection.  This is made ENTIRELY out of bacon.   I’m still processing how I feel about it, but I can tell you, it’s making me salivate.

2. Bacon Coffee
Mmm, this is from the exhibition Meat After Meat Joy that ran at the Daneyal Mahmood Gallery. It celebrated artists that work exclusively in meat. I would celebrate them as well… with some eggs and sourdough toast.

1. Bacon AK-47
I found this on Geekologie, and am shocked, amazed and fascinated. According to the post, it took eight hours to construct and they had to use a blowtorch. That’s dedication to your art! Well done!

BONUS BACON:

Bacon Paintings
Victoria Reynolds is known for her paintings of (not with) bacon. Check out some of her surreal pieces at the Richard Heller Gallery.

Felt Bacon Ensconced Refrigerator
If you don’t love this, you’re dead to me… probably from a cardiac arrest. I will miss you, and your delicious bacon cast offs.

This freaky fridge is covered in this adorable little guys.
